To foster this three-dimensional lifestyle that God originally intended and His Holy Spirit empowers us to restore, we’ve modeled our ministry after the first-century church described in Acts Chapter 2.
In the early church, believers fostered their connection with God by meeting regularly at the Temple (
Acts 2:46). At Southridge, our Sunday services are designed to play this role of encouraging each of us in our lives with God.
In the early church, believers fostered relationships with one another and became helpmates to one another through meeting regularly in one another’s homes (
Acts 2:44, 46). Our small group support system encourages the very same thing, gathering people in homes during the week to connect and grow together.
In the early church, believers took responsibility for the needs around them, down-grading their own quality of life in order to up-grade others (
Acts 2:45). In each of our locations, a distinct “anchor cause” allows us to focus our collective energies to make a practical difference in a key social need of that area of Niagara.
One important note though: in the early church, believers didn’t merely participating in church programs - meeting at the Temple, gathering in homes, and serving those in need. These formal activities were simply expressions of what Acts 2 calls a “fully devoted” lifestyle, and in turn encouraged a greater fullness of devotion to Christ.
So here at Southridge, we’re modeling ourselves after the early church with three core church programs that each contribute to expressing and encouraging a fully devoted lifestyle of Inspiration, Connection and Action.
