Our staff coaches provide help and guidance to residents while evaluating what steps need to be taken to move forward with their plan. The steps that need to be taken can sometimes be a puzzle and our coaches work closely with residents to put this together.
This often means looking at the different social services to connect to as well as suggestions and encouragement to get involved in this community through our programs and services. The other aspect to coaching services is help in working through past hurts and hang-ups in one's journey. Coaches are able to work with individual residents to go deeper into relationship and walk alongside them on this journey.
Our devotions program runs Monday to Saturday. Staff lead this optional program which provides an understanding of the basics of Christianity.
Chapel is our Wednesday evening program involving relevant teaching, worship time and a chance to spend time together in the café. The experience is very interactive and follows the teaching from Sunday morning.
The purpose behind our daily recreational programming is not only to engage residents into a healthy, active lifestyle but also to provide an opportunity for connection between volunteers and residents. Friendships are often developed out of a mutual interest in the programs, providing a strong basis for relationship.
Our volunteers are essential for our shelter. Beyond the task accomplishment of volunteering roles, our volunteers are encouraged to spend time building friendships with our residents. We believe that mutually beneficial friendships can be restorative for both the volunteer and the guest. Find out how you can Get Involved.
Service projects are a chance for our residents, volunteers and staff to work together to serve the community. If you would like to get involved with a service project, please contact Annie Duross.
